Our Christmas Meal

Today we all enjoyed eating in the dinner hall together, with our special Christmas dinner. Thank you so much to our wonderful lunch time supervisors and kitchen staff who helped make every second magical for us. The children enjoyed it so much, especially the gingerbread Christmas tree cookie!

Handwriting Hero!

A huge well done for our wonderful handwriting children this half term. Both children have really worked on their letter formations and using the handwriting lines. We have seen a huge improvement and couldn't be prouder of their hard work.

Seasons and Weather.

This term our topic in discovery has been all about the seasons and weather. We know what to expect during Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and we have really enjoyed predicting what weather we might see throughout the year. To help our learning we have been; completing a daily weather chart, matching clothes to the correct season, investigating what changes leaves, animals and nature see alongside making our very own windmills, sundials and season spinners! We also enjoyed creating the famous Kadinsky circles using colour to represent each season.

We hope you enjoy sharing our learning.

Children in Need.

Today we are supporting Children in Need and we have loved showing off our ears and spots! We made Pudsey ears in the afternoon and learnt a lot about the different charities Children in Need help to support and the founder, Terry Wogan.

Anti-Bullying Week - One Kind Word.

This week we have been supporting Anti-Bullying Week. Today we looked at the focus: One Kind Word. We chose to create a paperchain to share our kind words and show that we stand united against bullying. Our special mission is to spread kindness! Some of the words we chose were; kind, love, nice, good, friend and joy.

Remembrance Day.

Today the children have been using oil pastels to create beautiful poppy art work in honour of Remembrance Day. We have learnt about all those who fought to protect us and who were not able to return to their families. We thought about this during a 2 minute silence and whilst we made our artwork.

Design and Technology:

This term for D&T our aim was to build our very own toy car, that we would be able to play with at home. We began by looking at different moving vehicles and evaluating and analysing different materials to see which would be best. As part of our evaluation we took part in a race. For some of us our wheels fell off because they were not secure enough. However, some of us were very successful and made us the fastest contestants! Here are our results!

We Are Historians! The Toy Museum.

For our History topic this term we have been looking at toys from the past. Today all of the children enjoyed a special trip to the toy museum. They were able to look at toys throughout history, identify materials and have a go at creating their own clay teddy bear.

We can't wait to continue with our learning in this topic.
