School Football Team Matches - Friday 8th December

On Friday afternoon our school football team made the short journey to neighbours Southey Green. In freezing conditions both schools put everything into the game with tackles flying in right, left and centre. We fell behind early on but came back well to be 2-1 up just after half-time. This was thanks to a couple of excellent saves from Brice. Despite a few chances to finish the game off we conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with Southey A. Our direct play was very effective and put the Southey defence under a lot of pressure. We also defended superbly, with Ryan in particular commanding in the air. In the second game against Southey B we found it a little more difficult and lacked some composure when faced with many chances. However an excellent free-kick from Marcus and two smart finishes from Kyle gave us a deserved 3-1 victory. At the end of the afternoon all our team were shattered and covered in mud! Sorry there are no photos but it was simply too cold!!! Well done to all the team: Brice, Ryan, Owen, Lewis, Fnan, Markus, Kyle and Harley. More matches are scheduled for early in 2018.

Points Learning Network KS1 Football Festival @ Concord Sports Centre Wednesday 29th November

Last Wednesday a group of our Y1s braved freezing temperatures at Concord for the inaugural Points Learning Network KS1 football festival, which brought together schools from across the partnership. The event was a great success despite the conditions and our children gained so much from attending. A special mention to Kai, who top scored with 8 goals!!! Please find photos below:

KS1 Fundamentals Festival @ Yewlands - Thursday 23rd November

Last week 18 of our Y2 children went up to Yewlands Secondary School to participate in a KS1 Fundamentals festival against other local schools in our partnership. This is an annual event and allows children to develop their fundamental movement skills including agility, balance, coordination and speed. Our children were wonderful role models for our school and their behaviour was impeccable. Well done to all involved and please find a selection of photos below:

Please find below a selection of photos from the Y3 Tag Rugby festival held last week at Yewlands
